These are some films that have the same genre as ours. However, these films havent got very good ratings, so we are hoping that by the reasearch we have done and our own knowledge we are able to make a better film and hopefully get more ratings.

Above is a list of films and their directors with similar genres to our idea. This has helped us in our planning stages because it means if our film was ever to be produced we would know who our competition would be and who was the best director to help us. We can tell the best director by looking at the films produced and seeing which one has been most successful.

Our idea and others on the market

Our final idea is similar to the film 'John Tucker Must Die' which was made in 2006.
The film is about three ex-girlfriends of a serial cheater set up their former lover to fall for the new girl in town so they can watch him get his heart broken.
Our idea however is about one boy who is trying to get revenge on his ex-girlfriend for messing him around and not caring about him or taking his emotions into consideration.
Although our ideas are similar they have completely different concepts and will be represented differently.
Our Final Idea
Our romantic comedy (Rom-com) 2 minute film opening idea
BASIC DESCRIPTION
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
In the opening scene we will show close-ups of the pictures of the couple (Geoffry Palamason, played by Joe Shaw and Isabelle Thomson, played by Gina Fort) in memory of their happy relationship. A short part of the opening will then show the couple arguing and splitting up. A close-up will then appear of Geoffory looking upset and disraught and then Isabelle looking happy and not bothered. A fading camera shot will the show the close-up as a distant memory. Another medium shot from beind Geoffory will then show him ripping up something the viewer cannot see. Then when Geoffery leaves the camera zooms onto in on the thing that he ripped up thing which is a photo. The photo is of the couple ripped up and then a title appears saying 'KARMA'

Our Final Chosen Idea
For our final idea we have chosen to do idea 3. We are now going to do some research into our idea and how its going to work.
Changing Identities was out first idea, the genre was an Action Thriller. We decided against this film because of the hassle and difficulty contacting the police about allowing the props on the streets e.g. knifes. However, it would have been a really easy film to shot as it would be a lot of jump cuts.
Lost times was the second film that our group produced, the genre of the film is Romance. We did like this idea as we prefer to do a Rom-com or a romance, but from the analysis and the feedback that was given, there was many faults with this idea and required a lot of work to ensure that the opening scene would of good quality and interest the audience.
Karma was another film idea that we produced, the genre is Rom-com; this was the genre that we thought we would enjoy the most and would enjoy filming. Feedback was given when we produced our presentation to the class, it was very useful, it was mainly positive but we did get a negative but that could be worked on, and changed into a positive. A basic and detailed description was posted on our blog to show and represent the ideas and films relating to the film itself.
